It is getting closer to fall! The sorghum (milo) fields are heading out and starting to turn their fall colors. These are some pictures, both color and IR, of a recent drive through Marshall County where my Dad and I caught an amazing sunset.Labels: Elk City falls, IR, kansas, Marshall county, milo, photography, sorghum

Well summer is here finally and the heat has driven me to desperate measures...getting up early to photograph at sunrise. I'm not a morning person! Anyway, this past Saturday was beautiful with really heavy fog. I was a little late getting out, but still got some photos of the fog out on Deep Creek Road and then headed to Pillsbury Crossing. My photos can be viewed here.Labels: Deep Creek Road, flint hills, infrared, IR, kansas, Pillsbury crossing, summer
I recently sent off a Digital Rebel to Lifepixel.com to be modified for infrared (IR) only photography and I've been anxiously awaiting its return....it finally arrived this past Friday! I took it out in the backyard for my first test shots with it. You can view them here.Labels: backyard, infrared, IR, kansas, lifepixel.com
I recently visited the Tall Grass Prairie National Grasslands near Cottonwood Falls and Strong City in Chase County, Kansas with a couple of friends. We visited the Chase County Courthouse, the oldest operating courthouse in Kansas and did some photography there and then stopped at an old railroad depot and a cementary before hiking the nature trail at the Tall Grass Prairie. You can find some information on the Tall Grass Prairie Grasslands here and info on Chase County here. This is a good place to visit and look around, both on the Prairie and in the towns of Cottonwood Falls and Strong City. If you are driving down from Manhattan, an excellent place to stop for some food is the Hays House Restaurant in Council Grove (which is also a neat town to explore). My color photos from this trip can be viewed here and my Infrared Photos here. Hope you Enjoy!Labels: Chase County, IR, kansas, photos, Tall Grass Prairie
