Chase County and Tall Grass Prairie National Grasslands
I recently visited the Tall Grass Prairie National Grasslands near Cottonwood Falls and Strong City in Chase County, Kansas with a couple of friends. We visited the Chase County Courthouse, the oldest operating courthouse in Kansas and did some photography there and then stopped at an old railroad depot and a cementary before hiking the nature trail at the Tall Grass Prairie. You can find some information on the Tall Grass Prairie Grasslands here and info on Chase County here. This is a good place to visit and look around, both on the Prairie and in the towns of Cottonwood Falls and Strong City. If you are driving down from Manhattan, an excellent place to stop for some food is the Hays House Restaurant in Council Grove (which is also a neat town to explore). My color photos from this trip can be viewed here and my Infrared Photos here. Hope you Enjoy!Peace.
